On my Drawing Table - New Series

I started to work on a series of farm animals and did the sheep but then I
got distracted and never got back to them.
The sheep were a big hit at the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck this
year and a few people asked for goat art.
Here are the first two in a series of four:

 "Billy Loves Daisies"
Needs a bit of finishing up...

"My name is Rose but I Prefer Clover"
I am getting too silly with the titles for these paintings....
but it's fun!

On My Drawing Table

The Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck NY will be in a few short weeks. Last
year had a conflict of interest for me and I couldn't do it but I'm busy getting
new art ready for this year.

I will have new designs in my prints in different sizes.

New series and sizes for my wearable art pendants.

I will keep you updated as we get closer and I get more photos done.

Fingers crossed for beautiful weather!

This Year At the Fair!

I have had a whirlwind of a week! Actually The past three weeks have been so busy with preparation for this years Country Living Show in Rhinebeck, NY
After all the creating (which is the fun part) comes all the packing. Boxes and boxes
stacked and ready.

I think that my booth looked really great this year.
My husband assembled piping for me to
hold my walls up with. Since these spaces are very generous spaces, he was able
to adapt to the correct size.

We are in the barns up on what they call livestock hill. They are very open
and airy. Filled with sawdust it is a very rustic look.
I met some very lovely people from all over the United States, Canada, England and some visitors from
Australia!
Friday and Saturday were beautiful but the heat came in on Sunday
and we all were melting.
I felt so good to get home and put my feet up :)

Busy Day in the Studio

I spent the afternoon sewing the pieces together for this years batch of 'Bones Sisters'
There are two left over from last year which was the first year that I designed them.
This year I will have a limited edition of 12.
I want to have them ready for the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY in June.
New art is also being created so new prints and some other ideas that are in the works.
And this guy, my sweetie, Rocky is so tired from supervising lawn mowing by Lou
and sewing by Sue. He is having a little nap time....

Pictures of My booth at the Country Living Fair

I am constantly tweaking my booth layout. It also needs to be very adaptable and I am trying to figure this out. This spot was a 10x10 spot that actually ended up being 10x14. Not that I am complaining about the extra room, but thankfully my lovely neighbor Julia had very nice sheer curtain/ burlap walls.

This corner is a better organized one, so I am trying to come up with a pipe and drape system that will (a)fit in my car, (b) look really nice, and (c) not cost too much money ;)

But I must say that I love, love, love my flag sign!

I Am Having Too Much Fun Building Inventory!

Last year I started playing around with collage work. I used prints of my art that just weren't good enough on their own, but added in with vintage papers and embellishments, additional painting and some quotes from very clever people unique artwork is born.

Each one of these canvases are different works of art that

although seemingly mass produced,

are thoughtfully and delightfully created.
Bits of ephemera, fabric, prints of artwork all join together with acrylic paint.
Finished off with varnish and all set to hang!

Heart Lady Pincushions

I forgot to mention yesterday that the teacup mice are useful pincushions.
As are these lovely ladies.......

Each one is unique with a hand drawn face that surprisingly is different
on each one. She is a very helpful sewing companion or a willing
assistant on your dresser for pins and such.

Each one is also uniquely adorned with vintage buttons, ribbons and
other items.
I do hope that you will stop by my booth in Rhinebeck and visit!

The Tea Cup Mice are Ready!

As you can see, I have been busy.....

each little mouse is unique.

I do have too much fun with these guys!

I cut and stuff and sew each little mousie, then it is a
challenge to get just the right teacup.
Sometimes I find something other than a teacup that will work too.
This sweet little guy will be at the Country Living Fair in June.
