The Package

I put so much thought and effort into packaging my products.

I want everything to look professional, yet handmade.
I want it to look "gift-able" and special.
I want it to be reasonably priced so that I don't have to increase my costs.
I want it to be easy to put together so that it's not too time consuming to assemble.
I want it to protect the product from damage.
I want it to look unique.

Quite a list.

The latest product for me to assemble are my magnet sets. They have been very popular in the shops that I have them in and at fairs.  All feature my original art layered under glass and with a super strong rare earth magnet on the back.

Choosing to mount them on vintage dictionary pages helps to accent the colors of the art. And chip board backing to keep the whole thing rigid.

Everything gets tucked into a clear bag.

Some may call this an ironing board, today it was a packaging center.

This group is being packaged for a pop-up Mother's Day Gift Shop at:

Happy New Year!

It was a super busy end of 2016 for me thankfully!
I had shows and stores and orders coming in to make 2016
my best year so far! It was lovely meeting so many
wonderful people both in person at shows and on-line.

This week I have started sprucing up my Etsy Shop and getting new ideas
organized. Show schedules need to be decided and new art begun.

February is quickly approaching and I have spruced up my photos for
a few Valentine's Day themed items.

We still have this little one spending two days a week with us and we
love every single second of it!

My first show of 2017 will be at Dutch's Spirits in Pine Plains, NY
http://www.dutchsspirits.com/
It's a huge barn built on top of a prohibition moonshine bunker
that was operated by Dutch Schultz. Lots of very interesting
history here and on February 11th there will be a pop-up show
featuring the Mid-Hudson Etsy Makers and a few Hudson
Valley food producers.
If you are anywhere near, stop by and say hello.

In my Studio

I am busy getting ready for the upcoming show season.
My first one this year will be Sunday, May 8th at
The Makers Market
Railroad Ave.
Warwick, NY
It's a lovely market and I meet the nicest people there.
Also close by is a Farmers Market and the Town of Warwick
with restaurants and delightful shops.
This new little chickadee will be featured on a new style pendant.
It is an oval shape and I just can't wait to assemble them this week.
I'm still working on this birds eye view of a nest. I'm not at all happy with the background.
While looking for a bit of paper with my mothers handwriting on
it, I found this newspaper clipping.
That is me on the right with my first ever art award, I was in first grade and very
intimidated by the camera!

Have a lovely week!
