Halloween Jointed Art Dolls

This is Jackie o'Lantern of the o'Lantern family of Sleepy Hollow.
She has emerged from the family pumpkin patch for her favorite holiday.

She and her little bird friend are ready to come and trick or treat with you!
You can find them here:

Belinda Bones is also ready for All Hallows Eve....

She had her hair done for the occasion and has her Trick or Treat
bag all ready!

You can find her here:

I am getting ready for a new show this year at the
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery the Saturday before Halloween
October 26th.

If you are in the area it promises to be a great Halloween show.

On my drawing table: Author Portraits

I have wanted to do a series of author portraits.
Since I have a 'thing' for crows, blackbirds and ravens, the first portrait just had to be Poe!

The idea is to make them look sort of vintage, but with a playful, whimsical touch.

Shakespere was next, but he needs more work and I have a better idea now of what to do,
instead of the comedy/tradgedy masks.

And considering the time of year and following a customer suggestion, Washington Irving is being worked on right now.....

The finished product, printed on a vintage dictionary page. I will be listing on etsy sometime this week.

I Love Halloween!

The Living Room Fireplace

Part of the Mantle

Hutch in the Kitchen

Rat in the Kitchen!!

I love the autumn holidays, Halloween with it's fun dress-up and Thanksgiving with it's food!
Where we live, we don't get many Trick or Treaters if at all, so the past few years I have been having a Halloween Party and sleepover with my nieces. It gives me a good excuse to get out all my decorations.
We play games and dunk for apples and then stay up late and watch scary movies and eat popcorn.
I love to scatter little decorations throughout the house and I placed a faux rat on top of my microwave. When I was cooking today I needed to get into the cabinet above and so I moved the rat to the open shelves next to it. As I was busy cooking I forgot that I moved it
and scared myself when I went to reach for the EVOO!
