Spring is on the Way!

It has been a looooong winter! Generally wintertime has a snuggly peacefulness that I enjoy, but this year it has me itching for spring!
We've had some celebrating, actually February and January seem to have quite a few birthdays to celebrate. This one here is my lovely daughter-in-law celebrating a milestone, with a huge helper!

We went outside this week before the nor'easter hit looking for spring, we found some moss that had been buried under the snow.
The walking trails are clear but just a little muddy, the melting snow has filled the streams.
Of course a rock-skipping demonstration was in order.
Just being able to spend a day outside was rejuvenating.
And the snowdrops were not only peeking out but were standing tall!

On My Drawing Table

The Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck NY will be in a few short weeks. Last
year had a conflict of interest for me and I couldn't do it but I'm busy getting
new art ready for this year.

I will have new designs in my prints in different sizes.

New series and sizes for my wearable art pendants.

I will keep you updated as we get closer and I get more photos done.

Fingers crossed for beautiful weather!

Peonies!

Peonies are my favorite flower. I love this pink and white one.
This one is an heirloom from a transplanted bush from a local botanical garden that closed.
I love the late afternoon sunlight and the delicate scent of these.
Setting up for a still life...

and celebrating a special birthday for a special someone with my favorite men!

A Week of Flowers

My week started off with beautiful Mother's Day Flowers from my son. I wish he was able to come home but we had a nice phone chat.

My lilac bush that was planted two years ago had a few blooms and a gorgeous visitor this week.

The Mid Atlantic White Violet made it's appearance.

As did the Yellow Clover flower.

And ended with this lovely niece going to her senior prom.

The Tea Cup Mice are Ready!

As you can see, I have been busy.....

each little mouse is unique.

I do have too much fun with these guys!

I cut and stuff and sew each little mousie, then it is a
challenge to get just the right teacup.
Sometimes I find something other than a teacup that will work too.
This sweet little guy will be at the Country Living Fair in June.

Arts and Craft Show Booth

My display booth is different at every show I go to. It has been a work in progress and I like the way it went together at this show the best so far. I do like the look of the swirls on this carpeting, very whimsical and sort of goes with my whole whimsical theme :) Unfortunately the lighting was bad in this part of the room and I only brought one light. (Note to self; buy more clip on lights!) Lisa the show organizer was kind enough to lend me another lamp. The shelf unit on the center table I found at an estate sale and nailed a decoupaged board to the back of it. It worked very well for my new birds and small paintings.

Waterlogged again!!

Something pretty to look at, not my dank basement!

My studio and office are on the lower level of our home, one half is underground and the other half is above. So, that is where my work area is and it is finished off and has nice windows. Well thanks to Irene it got flooded last week and it took me a week to dry everything out. Here I am again, vaccuuming water and mopping floors boy am I getting a good workout! I am grateful that we are able to handle it and are not completely submerged. Sending prayers up to Vestal/Binghamton, NY.

New Painting

I listed a new painting on ebay tonight. I really like this one, a whimsical rose topiary with three white doves. Also I will be using etsy for prints of my paintings and I listed a new one there tonight also.
