It's been awhile.....

since my last posting here. 

The summer flew by and it was a busy one!

Lots of family time...

 

 

 

and jumping in muddy puddles!

 

 

 

Now that it's autumn and back to a regular schedule (of sorts, lol)

I am busy listing and creating and getting my show schedule firmed up.

 

The Bone Sisters are currently keeping me very occupied.

Happy New Year!

It was a super busy end of 2016 for me thankfully!

I had shows and stores and orders coming in to make 2016

my best year so far! It was lovely meeting so many 

wonderful people both in person at shows and on-line.

This week I have started sprucing up my Etsy Shop and getting new ideas

organized. Show schedules need to be decided and new art begun.

February is quickly approaching and I have spruced up my photos for 

a few Valentine's Day themed items.

We still have this little one spending two days a week with us and we

love every single second of it!

My first show of 2017 will be at Dutch's Spirits in Pine Plains, NY

It's a huge barn built on top of a prohibition moonshine bunker

that was operated by Dutch Schultz. Lots of very interesting

history here and on February 11th there will be a pop-up show

featuring the Mid-Hudson Etsy Makers and a few Hudson

Valley food producers.

Garrison Riverside Craft Fair 2015

It is the most beautiful venue that I participate in. The Hudson River is one of the most majestic rivers in the world.

My booth never looks the same from fair to fair, but this setup is by far the prettiest setup for my booth yet!

The customers were a delight, very engaging and interesting to meet and talk to. My vendor neighbors were all sweet and fun to spend time with.

The weather, although sunny with no rain, was horribly hot, humid and  miserable! Lots of ice, water, wet towels and my latest obsession; cold brewed iced coffee!!!

 A major push to finish many projects...

 I looked like a hurricane blew through my studio!

 Everything did get packed securely.

 The beltway traffic around DC was horrible!!!

It was a lovely three days, I met some fantastic people

and I miss them already!

This Year At the Fair!

 

I have had a whirlwind of a week! Actually The past three weeks have been so busy with preparation for this years Country Living Show in Rhinebeck, NY 

After all the creating (which is the fun part) comes all the packing. Boxes and boxes

stacked and ready.

I think that my booth looked really great this year. 

My husband assembled piping for me to

hold my walls up with. Since these spaces are very generous spaces, he was able

 to adapt to the correct size.

 

We are in the barns up on what they call livestock hill. They are very open

and airy. Filled with sawdust it is a very rustic look.

I met some very lovely people from all over the United States, Canada, England and some visitors from 

Australia! 

Friday and Saturday were beautiful but the heat came in on Sunday

and we all were melting. 

I felt so good to get home and put my feet up :)

On My Drawing Table: Author Portraits, Washington Irving

The third in my (very slow to put together) series of author portraits.

 

I completed the pencil sketch last year,

 



After researching images of Washington Irving ...

I also wanted to combine an image of one of his most popular stories, like I have done with Poe.

 



 

 I think that my image has shaved about 20 years off of the one I used for

research. But that is not necessarily a bad thing :)

 

Prints of him will appear on my etsy site tomorrow. And I will be bringing

them along to the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Craft Fair,

 

October 26th.

Halloween Jointed Art Dolls

Pictures of My booth at the Country Living Fair

I am constantly tweaking my booth layout. It also needs to be very adaptable and I am trying to figure this out. This spot was a 10x10 spot that actually ended up being 10x14. Not that I am complaining about the extra room, but thankfully my lovely neighbor Julia had very nice sheer curtain/ burlap walls.

 



This corner is a better organized one, so I am trying to come up with a pipe and drape system that will (a)fit in my car, (b) look really nice, and (c) not cost too much money ;)

 

But I must say that I love, love, love my flag sign!

Heart Lady Pincushions

 

I forgot to mention yesterday that the teacup mice are useful pincushions.

As are these lovely ladies.......

 

Each one is unique with a hand drawn face that surprisingly is different

on each one. She is a very helpful sewing companion or a willing

assistant on your dresser for pins and such.

 

Each one is also uniquely adorned with vintage buttons, ribbons and

other items.

I do hope that you will stop by my booth in Rhinebeck and visit!

Garrison Arts Council Craft Fair on Sunday

My booth after we were all done setting up. We had to keep the one side
wall down because the view was just too pretty to hide.

It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend this year!

I forgot to remove that package of tissue paper that is resting on the suitcase full of
my new collages.

The vendor next to me had these beautiful handmade deck chairs and
people were stopping by to sit and just enjoy this stunning view of
West Point Military Academy.
