A visit to Dia:Beacon.

A few weeks ago when my younger son was in for a visit, we spent a few hours at the Dia: Beacon. A contemporary art museum in Beacon, NY which is a small city along the Hudson River.

I love this pathway!

So many light filled areas.

The building itself was originally used as manufacturing plant producing Nabisco boxes.

 

The architecture is as amazing as the art within.

If you are in the Northeast and haven't visited yet, you should!
If you are planning a trip any time in the future, make sure to put this as a stop.

Weekend.....

Why does the weekend scoot by so quickly?

Saturday was a lovely day, my husband and I went to an Estate Sale

and a Yard Sale in the lovely little town of Millerton, NY. If you
are a tea drinker, Millerton is home to Harney and Sons Tea Company.
They have a delightful tasting room, gift shop and cafe.

 I scored some great stuff...Haeger Pottery and some beautifully
tarnished silverplate.

After a delicious lunch we traveled a few back roads...

The clouds were gorgeous and sweeping views of the rolling hills

 are really not captured in this photo.

Quaker Hill Road in Pawling, NY is a beautiful sun dappled drive.

I bought a lovely Rhododendron to plant.

Sunday was a rainy day and I spent it at my drawing table working on

Butterfly Prints

This weekend I am working on listing prints of my new butterfly paintings.
The originals will be in a show at the Cornell Street Gallery in Kingston, NY opening on the 8th of October.
